Sports - Track Field - Disc RIC Athletes participate in Great Lake Regional GamesRIC competitive athletes and Paralympians gathered to compete at the Great Lakes Regional Games in Niles, Illinois May 3-5. 2013. Events include archery, swimming, table tennis, track and field, weight lifting, and boccia.

Save the Date! Aphasia Open HouseIn celebration of National Aphasia Awareness Month RIC’s Center for Aphasia Research is hosting a day of activities, classes and groups for people with aphasia, family members and friends.

Join us for a day of “connections”
–Meet others who are living with aphasia
–Participate in discussion groups
–Share your personal stories
–Try a new activity!

This event will also feature a screening of the new PBS film “After Words” - a documentary about people living successfully with aphasia.

Pre-registration is required by Friday, June 14, 2013. The registration fee includes lunch, class activities, and all refreshments.

Sports - Caring for Kids - Canoe Caring for Kids ProgramRIC adapted recreation for children and youth ages 6 to 17Get Ready for Summer Fun! The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Caring for Kids program is for any youth aged 6–17 who has a physical disability and is independent in daily living skills. It offers adaptive sports, recreation, special events and social activities. All programs promote positive quality of life through physical fitness, independence, socialization, activity and adaptive recreation.Caring for Kids offers programs throughout the year including the Caring for Kids Summer Camp, Caring for Kids School Year Programs, as well as activities held year-round.
