LIFE Education Classes
Inpatient and family education at RIC

The LIFE Center provides weekly disability specific discussion groups to help RIC Inpatients and their families learn about resources that can support them after hospitalization. Discussions are led by a LIFE Center Educator and include a peer mentor to share life experiences and use of community resources.
Topics include finding help and information on:
– Condition, health information
– Finding caregivers, help at home
– Locating equipment vendors
– Getting around – using public transportation, driving
– Going back to work or school
– Housing information, including adaptations
– Finding support for yourself, family and friends
– Keeping fit
LIFE classes are held for the following groups:
- General rehabilitation families / patients
- Stroke rehabilitation families / patients
- Spinal Cord rehabilitation families / patients
- Pediatric rehabilitation families / patients
- Families of patients with Aphasia
- Families of patients with Brain Injury
