A Peer Visitor is someone who can talk with you about:Talk it over with someone who’s Been There
•Real issues of disability
•Going through the rehab process
•Living independently
•Finding disability resources
The LIFE Center and Access Living (a non–residential independent living organization for people with disabilities) have developed a team of trained peer visitors who, like you, live with a disability. Peer visitors are available to all patients and families at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago during a hospital stay and after discharge.
