Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago - Peer Visitor Program

Reviewed July 2009
Talk it over with someone who’s “Been There”
A Peer Visitor is someone who can talk with you about:

• Real issues of disability
• Going through the rehab process
• Living independently
• Finding disability resources

The LIFE Center and Access Living (a non-residential independent living organization for people with disabilities) have developed a team of trained peer visitors who, like you, live with a disability. Peer visitors are available to all RIC patients and can connect with you and/or your family during your hospital stay and after discharge.
To arrange a peer visit, contact the LIFE Center at 312-238-5433; email at lifecenter@ric.org; or fax at 312-238-2860.
