RIC Sports & Fitness
The functional fitness program builds on skills learned in physical or occupational therapy. It continues working with the development of functional mobility - those skills needed for activities of daily living such as walking, transferring, and balance. An exercise physiologist customizes an exercise program to meet individual needs and goals. Activities may involve mat work, strength machines, stretching, balance, and water exercise in the therapy pool. After an individual completes his or her physical therapy or occupational therapy, they can schedule the functional fitness appointments at the fitness center.
A physician referral is required. Click on the PDF button to the right to access the Functional Fitness Enrollment form.
