LIFE Center: Services and Programs
Advancing Ability through Learning, Innovation, Family, Empowerment
Reviewed April 2013

The LIFE Center is a multimedia education center that provides opportunities for learning, innovation, family, and empowerment for people with disabilities, their families, health professionals and the community. It encourages inquiry, promotes productivity, and inspires all to achieve their greatest and fullest participation in life.
“When a health care issue arises, patients and families may need to grasp a broad array of information in a short period of time. This information is often important for persons to succeed after hospitalization and/or rehabilitation. Shortened inpatient stays in the acute stage of trauma bring greater complications to the rehab level of care. With so many medical components needing attention, resources like the LIFE Center play a key role in helping families and staff create and implement care plans that will enable successful transitions after discharge. The LIFE Center model/system was developed to support this.”
