Access Living is one of the leading independent living centers in the country. It is a non-residential advocacy center for people in Chicago with all types of disabilities. Two attorneys on staff provide free help with issues such as: domestic violence and sexual assault; housing discrimination, including compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and civil rights issues; immigration; landlord/tenant issues; public benefits (PA/Medicaid/Medicare); Social Security.
Intake hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Sign language and Braille or large print are available. Interpreters for Spanish are also available.
